Job Overview & Purpose
A key member of the senior leadership team and will be reporting to the CEO, with matrix reporting to the Director – Group Finance. This individual will lead the Finance Department in Ireland and will play a key role in the growth of the organisation.
The right candidate will have a strategic mind-set and will also be able to lead the execution of the day- to-day activities. Working closely with the Financial Controller to lead and manage the finance functions and to serve as an effective member of the senior management team supporting the tactical and operational direction of the business.
Providing comprehensive explanation of variances and detailed analysis, as well as providing insight into the key financial drivers of the business around sales, revenue, retention, costs, and cash-flow are critical to the success of this role.
The successful candidate will have a sound accountancy background and be able to demonstrate good commercial experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the finance function
* Responsible for variance analysis and KPIs
* Final review of budgets and forecasts on a quarterly and annual basis
* Working closely with the sales and operational teams to provide high quality M.I
* Ensure the accurate reporting of sales and calculation of bonus payments
* Working closely alongside Group Finance in developing consistency of MI, policies and procedures
* Understand and report on profitability of the business on a variety of bases: client, product, service, geographic or other bases as appropriate
* Providing financial insight to drive the strategic direction of the business
* Manage the credit control function ensuring effective collection procedures
* Co-ordinate monthly payroll processing with Payroll Manager and ensure robust sign off procedures and smooth running of the monthly payroll process
* Ensure compensation structures are aligned with the organisation’s strategy
* Ensure effective controls in operation for staff recruitment and the procurement of goods and services
* Deal directly with the sales team on all non-fee chart quotations to ensure profitability
* High-level authorisation of expenses and supplier payment runs
* Migrate shared Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger services from centralised UK location to local Dublin operation
Skills and experience required:
* Must have a recognised accountancy qualification
* Ability to organise and prioritise workload within a fast-paced environment
* Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
* Demonstrate a sound knowledge of financial reporting and compliance procedures
* Strong commercial experience
* Ability to effectively manage and motivate a team
* Possess strong communication and presentation skills
* Demonstrate strong process-driven methodologies and a good understanding and use of systems to drive efficiencies
* Experience data driven analytics is an asset
