Job Purpose

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a thriving and dynamic business. As a key member of the Group Marketing team, you will be responsible for developing and delivering the PR and communications strategy to raise the profile of the various Group companies’ through the media.

Job Overview

Reporting into the Associate Director of Digital Marketing, you will be responsible for increasing and driving momentum on PR activity that increases Peninsula Group’s brand visibility. You must have a strong background in PR and have worked within media relations with the ability to know what will make the headlines.

You will have the ability to write engaging stories and comments for various publications as well as knowing the importance that social media plays in the future of our outreach. Day-to-Day Responsibilities

* Responsible for creating PR strategies for multiple Group companies, across a range of areas. This is full ownership of the PR function as you’ll be leading PR for the company
* Responsible for implementing large scale PR campaigns
* Analysing data and trends to create exciting and engaging stories
* Research and identify new media and PR opportunities to raise the profile of the Peninsula Group companies
* Work with the Group companies to plan monthly, quarterly and annual PR strategy
* Maintain a keen understanding of industry trends affecting Peninsula Group clients and make appropriate recommendations regarding PR opportunities surrounding them
* Support and help prepare key stakeholders for media and speaking opportunities
* Write press releases and opinion pieces to place in the media
* Help research and evaluate opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships and industry awards
* Build and nurture relationships with press contacts in the target media including national, regional and trade
* Brief and manage PR agencies efficiently and effectively
* A skilled approach to media pitching, proactively using a range of techniques to deliver results
* Maintain and update PR calendars for all Peninsula Group companies
* Monitor media coverage and report results to the wider team and key stakeholders

What you bring to the Team

* Over five years’ minimum experience in a PR agency or in house PR role with connections to key media outlets
* Experience in devising and implementing communications strategies in fast-paced environments using a mix of internal and external resources
* Proven experience in media relations, with the ability to pitch succinctly and effectively both in person, over the phone and in writing
* Demonstrable track record of successful delivery measured against brand awareness and press coverage
* Excellent organisation and project management skills
* Proven ability to measure the impact of activity and demonstrate a KPI-focused approach
* Strong interpersonal skills; able to communicate confidently, professionally and proactively with a broad range of people
* Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects in a fast paced and demanding environment
* Crisis comms experience
* Experience with digital PR tools, including PRNewswire, PA Media Point, PR Max, etc
