Portfolio are proud to be exclusively representing our client who provide Legal Expenses and General Liability insurance products to its intermediary business partners, brokers and MGAs. They have developed into a BBB secure rated insurer and will soon be launching its first Combined Liability insurance product offering to the Commercial SME sector.

This role is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to secure a new role at a very exciting time for a fast-growing company. The role forms a key part of both the Risk and Compliance functions within the company. The Risk and Compliance Manager will assist the CRO in setting and implementing robust processes and procedures within the Risk and Compliance function and will be actively involved in the implementation and monitoring of processes and procedures throughout the company.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

* Act as the alternate for the CRO, including attendance at pertinent committee, management meetings and new product initiative discussions
* Preparation of departmental MI for board and committee meetings as appropriate
* Assisting with the development, and maintenance, of the company’s Risk Management framework
* Assisting with the company’s ORSA process
* Monitoring and reporting on the company’s risk profile against appetite
* Reviewing the appropriateness of the company’s stress and scenario testing framework

Compliance

* Act as the alternate for the CRO, including attendance at pertinent committee, management meetings and new product initiative discussions
* Ensuring the company remains compliant with FCA, PRA and legal requirements
* Preparation of departmental MI for board and committee meetings as appropriate
* Monitoring the company’s complaints process to ensure that complaints are handled in accordance with the company’s policy and procedure for complaint handling
* Assist with the maintaining of the control schedule of required functions/actions and ensuring that these are carried out within specified timeframes
* Assisting with the maintenance of the company’s governance framework and ensuring that the regulators are kept up to date as required
* Regulatory Horizon Scanning – monitoring for, summarising and tracking the implementation of applicable regulatory developments that will impact the company via summary papers for the board, relevant committees and staff
* Assisting with and monitoring the implementation of recommendations by internal audit

Person Specification:

* Professional qualification (such as ACII), minimum part-qualified
* Experience (at least 5 years) working within an Insurance Risk and Compliance function
* Attention to detail
* Ability to prioritise workload effectively
* Excellent presentation skills
* Self-motivated and organised
* A flexible approach with the ability to work under the pressure of deadlines
* Excellent knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
