Are you a qualified (or nearly qualified) accountant with a passion for precision and financial expertise?We are seeking a Technical Insurance Accountant to join our client's finance department. You will be joining a well-established business who provide a range of legal expenses and liability products. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, supporting the organisation's commitment to excellence and sustained growth. Key Responsibilities: * Develop and maintain FP&A reporting suite including annual budgets, quarterly forecasting, and KPIs. * Create cost management reporting to optimize financial performance. * Provide technical support for monthly management accounts and annual statutory reporting. * Assist with regulatory reporting processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards. * Produce ad hoc reports for senior management and liaise with internal and external stakeholders. * Uphold system data integrity through validation and analysis. Required Experience: * Qualified ACA, ACMA, ACCA accountant (or nearly qualified) with experience in commercial accounting. * Previous work in the insurance industry with knowledge of FRS 102 accounting. * Familiarity with preparing insurance accounts, including premiums, claims, and reserves. * Awareness of SII regulatory reporting (SFCR, RSR & QRTs). * Advanced Excel skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively. * Strong prioritization skills to manage workload effectively. Portfolio Payroll are currently partnered with a Local Government organisation who are seeking an experienced and dynamic Payroll Manager to join their busy payroll team. As Payroll Manager, you will report into the Head of Payroll and will have three direct reports (payroll team leaders) with overall responsibility of the wider payroll team. Responsibilities include: * Line management of the team leaders including 1:1s, appraisals and allocation of work * Overseeing the processing and delivery of end to end payrolls * Check payrolls before BACs * Be a superuser for iTrent * Assist with the implementation of pay aware across all payrolls * Contribute to continuous improvement Experience required: * Excellent in house payroll knowledge * People management experience in a payroll management level position * iTrent experience is desirable * Experience within a local government environment is desirable This position offers flexibility to be mainly remote working, with the expectation to travel to the South West London office 1-2 times a month.Closing date is 30th April with interviews taking place WC 6th May.Apply below! 47235RMCINDPAY
