We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Pensions Specialist to join a large team environment and move into a Senior Pensions/Team Leader role and take responsibility for the delivery of all pensions admin transactions to multiple clients.

The successful candidate will create a performance-focused working environment, which promotes a culture of continuous improvement and innovation across the service. Develop the service to continue to deliver a high-performing, customer-centric, professional, confident and efficient transactional payroll and admin service to customers.

* Ensure that the pensions service runs within the agreed timescales and in line with the monthly payrolls.
* Demonstrate expert knowledge of pensions processes and legislative requirements.
* Ensure all pension records are maintained to comply with numerous different pension schemes.
* Manage the provision of accurate retirement estimates to the client and information regarding pensions scheme and changes, excluding advice.
* Manage the production and submission of statutory returns.
* Ensure that letters are sent to employees who have reached pensionable age, detailing pension options.
* Implement and maintain a comprehensive set of measures to support day to day operational management of the team (productivity, utilisation and quality) and achievement of business goals.
* Manage workloads effectively.
* Encourage continuous improvement to increase efficiency.
* Take action to minimise risks and escalate risks and issues appropriately.
* Ensure auditable processes and procedures are maintained for meeting statutory and contractual requirements.
* Ensure adequately skilled resource is available to meet both current and future service delivery requirements.
* Constructively interact with and challenge colleagues at all levels to drive towards operational excellence.
* Provide as required management support and resources to deliver projects arising from new business opportunities, service development, and policy and legislative changes.

* Ensure that all pensions administration is processed within detailed timelines and that the processes are streamlined and effective.

* Ensure the pension administration processes are continually reviewed and improved.
* Ensure all pension records are maintained to comply with pension scheme regulations.

* Ensure active management and intervention on customer complaints and incidents including reporting in line with contractual and Capita requirements.
* Demonstrate a knowledge of the operational processes and legislative requirements of payroll transactions.
* Ensure all relevant communication is cascaded effectively and feedback facilitated.
* Communicate business and team objectives at all levels to motivate team members and gain commitment to targets and plans.
* Proactively implement effective and appropriate performance management.

What we’re looking for:

* Strong pensions admin management experience.
* Experience of working with KPIs and SLAs.
* Experience of managing a team of administrators
* Proven organisational skills demonstrated by the ability to plan and manage resources and services to achieve KPI/PI performance.
* Well developed ability to lead; manage and develop high performing teams.
* Target driven and adaptable with strong resource management capability.
* Experience in interpreting and implementing pension legislation.
* Experience of developing, coaching and mentoring staff.
* Experience of working in an operational, high volume, and fast-paced environment.
* Experience of working within an HR and/or regulatory framework.
* Knowledge of systems capability and potential.
* Evidence of applying continuous improvement methodologies to achieve business efficiency and service quality.
