KEEPING THE UK PAID
Portfolio Payroll are proud to celebrate 20-years of being the headline sponsor of the CIPP’s National Payroll Week in 2021!
Taking place 6-10th September, National Payroll Week was established in the UK by the CIPP in 1998 to celebrate the payroll profession and to give it the recognition it deserves. The week is designed to demonstrate the impact the payroll industry has in the UK through the collection of income tax and National Insurance; especially when you consider the £249 billion* paid to the government through income tax and national insurance contributions.
“This year (2020), the first ever digital National Payroll Week, was extremely successful and did not dampen spirits when it came to celebrating the dedication of the Payroll industry. The engagement with our “Payroll Lockdown Heroes” was overwhelming, with so many Managers and colleagues sharing positive and inspirational stories about their Payroll teams, a true reflection of what is so special about the industry. We thoroughly enjoyed taking part in The Future of Payroll roundtable which was extremely informative, and the Wine Tasting event was too! We continue to be impressed with the commitment and dynamic nature of Payroll professionals during these uncertain times and we will continue to support the Payroll industry however we can.”
Anthony Macey, Director @ Portfolio Payroll
* based on income tax and national insurance contributions as shown on Labour market overview, UK – Office for National Statistics (ons.gov.uk) The data suggests this has fallen by £730,000.
