Job Description * Manage the overall payroll functions including timely and accurately processing of all payrolls, payroll taxes, reviewing and revising payroll process and procedure, as well as internal controls * Provide direction and guidance to payroll team to ensure all payroll activities are compliant with applicable federal & provincial regulations, corporate policies and the collective agreements * Manage deliverables including data inputs, ROEs, withholding orders, absence audit, and tax deductions with the goal of an error-free payroll result. * Act as the subject matter expert on payroll related activities, payroll taxation * Oversee timely and accurate reconciliation of payroll funding & taxes remittances on pay period basis. * Develops quality control and process review, perform audits to ensure proper controls are in place for accuracy and completeness of payroll functions * Partner with HR and Operations and act as the main point of contact for any urgent Payroll related inquiries * Review and redefine payroll team's roles and responsibilities continuously in support of rapid changing needs of organization, operations and business partners * Lead change management processes and have strong planning, organizational and problem-solving skills to anticipate and manage issues proactively * Recommend and implement new or enhanced payroll policies, procedures and processes to improve operational effectiveness * Support internal and external audits * Work with payroll M&A team to take on Requirements * 5 + years progressive payroll experience in a management role, including supervision of staff * Certified payroll designation is an asset * Experience in collective agreements is an asset * Knowledge in Workday system preferred * Experience with M&A, or system implementations is an asset * Positive team player with the ability to motivate, develop and lead others * Experience processing high volume, multi-province payroll * Superior communication, customer service and problem solving skills * Proficiency with MS Office applications, with advanced knowledge in Excel * Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment INDCAP001199YSR1

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll Coordinator to join one of out fast growing clients. As a Payroll Coordinator, you will be responsible for accurately processing and managing employee payroll, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements. Your role will involve collaborating with various departments to gather necessary payroll information, resolving payroll discrepancies, and maintaining accurate payroll records.RESPONSIBILITIES * Coordinating and inputing daily timesheets and electronic uploads of time, validating payroll data, Processing full payroll cycle in timely manner and related support functions for an assigned portfolio of clients (all frequencies, multi-provincial) * Processing new hires, terminations, ROE's vacation pay calculation, vacation, lieu and sick bank credits, bonus pay, Garnishment, commission & Benefits for clients, payment recall, redirect payment, ROE amendment etc. * Reviewing payroll journal, payroll summery, reconcile invoice & send to clients. * Generate payroll reports, calendrer &T4's, for assigned client * Complete ownership of client portfolio of all issues, from routine payroll inquiries to provincial legislation. * Define CPP, EI discrepancy, and resolve it in timely manner * Processing Year End functions like T4's RL-1, T4A auditing, T4 back work, stimulation, T4 amendments and distributionAs a seasoned payroller with experience you will enjoy working for a stable, team-based and collaborative work environment. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will help manage a payroll of over 600 employees for a department of 2 payrollers. You will dealing with their queries, biweekly reconciliations, processing unionized payroll and accurate tax and other deductions in line with government requirements. As a seasoned payroller with experience processing high volume payroll or in a standalone position, you will enjoy working on site.
