The Portfolio Group are working with a high-end property business based in the Heart of London looking to take on an experience Credit Control Manager to take full ownership of the Credit Control function. This is a fundamental role within finance and will be working very closely with both the CFO and CEO! You will work collaboratively with the letting department and property management and build strong internal and external relationships across finance and the wider business. You will be responsible for the Credit Control and Billings function affectively being the go-to for any Accounts Receivable queries.

Job Overview

* Managing the full end-to-end ledger and taking responsibility for a Junior member of staff within the Credit Control team
* Ensure the accurate billings on the Accounts & Property Management system
* Preparing weekly arrears reports for circulation and present to the relevant contacts within the organisation
* Deal with weekly arears and follow relevant paths to collect outstanding debt
* Liaise with clients regarding debts or shortfalls on payments, agreeing payment plans where necessary
* Work with inhouse Legal Council and external solicitors in issuing notice on tenants either by Section 21 notice, Section 8 notice, or Notice to Quit etc.
* Preparation of court documents and attend Court hearings where necessary
* Ensuring all cash receipts are correctly accounted for
* Perform credit checks as required
* Managing internally and externally held tenant deposits (under TDS, DPS etc) and related bank accounts
* Managing one other staff member
* Ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the sales ledger
* Overseeing the bank statements, account reconciliations and workload to ensure everything is dealt with in a timely manner
* Reviewing new tenant contracts
* Maintaining and updating procedures and processes when required

Essential skills and competencies

* 5+ Credit control experience is essential
* Managerial experience would be beneficial
* Experience of working within commercial or residential property is preferable
* Legal experience in the Residential Property industry (e.g.ARLA)
* Good team management skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Numerate including a good knowledge of Microsoft Excel
* Must be self-motivated, very organised and able to work under pressure to tight deadlines
